Review : Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Natural Lip Gloss in Zesty Red

Review : Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Natural Lip Gloss in Zesty Red

I’m slacking a little on the review front lately and I do apologise for that. I have quite a few things to bring to you and plan on catching up very soon.

Today I’m going to share with you my thoughts on Burt’s Bees Natural Lip Gloss. In particular the Zesty Red shade.

The lip gloss is packaged in a standard tube. Its clear so you can see the colour immediately. I like that the attention is drawn to the fact that the product is 100% natural.

This lip gloss is 100% natural and isn’t tested on animals – massive plus in my books.

As you can see the lip gloss is quite shimmery when swatched, but when applied the shimmer isn’t too much. I do think that shimmer can sometimes cheapen a product, however this one has just the right amount of shimmer to make your lips fuller and shiny without cheapening them.

If I’d bought this product expecting it to be a very ‘zesty red’ I would be a little disappointed as it doesn’t really pack much punch in the colour department.

Colour aside this lip gloss does exactly what it says on the tin. It makes your lips look super shiny and leaves them feeling very moisturised.

The lip gloss has a fruity fragrance which is quite overpowering on first application, but this doesn’t stick around too long, it just leaves a subtle orange smell.

The formula of this isn’t sticky at all. Burt’s Bees state that this feels more balm like on the lips than lip gloss and it really does. My lips feel super smooth when wearing this.

Would I recommend this product?
This completely depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a natural, cruelty free, moisturising lip gloss then yes. If you are looking for a super pigmented, vibrant lip gloss then no.

My lip gloss was sent to me from Cheap Smells. Their website states that this product is usually dispatched within one working day. Cheap Smells deliver free within the UK. You can view their other delivery options for outside the UK here.

The lip gloss comes in four flavours. Zesty Red, Sweet Pink, Pucker Berry and Nectar Nude. Prices start at just £3.40 for 14g of product. Zesty Red costs £4.49 from CheapSmells (RRP £5.99). All four colours are available to purchase here.

Have you tried Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss? This is the first Burt’s Bees product I have ever tried – what other products do you recommend from them?

*Disclaimer – this product was sent to me for review purposes. Despite this all opinions are 100% honest and my own*

Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I love Burt's Bees I didn't know they did make up with colour in it, I thought they only did clear lip balms. I got a brilliant Burt's Bees gift set for Christmas, their facial moisturisers are fab, left my skin soft all day! xx

Thanks for that, was worried it would be sticky like a gloss but will give it a try now 🙂

I'm a real sucker for lipglosses that aren't sticky! There is nothing I hate more (cosmetically speaking) than a gloopy mouth ha-ha. This one looks gorgeous and I love the idea of a fruity taste too, might have to indulge myself 😉
