Review : Dainty Doll Eyeliners 004 & 005

Review : Dainty Doll Eyeliners 004 & 005
I recently used the Beauty Box Swaps facebook page to swap an unused product for two Dainty Doll eyeliners. I really wanted to try these but didn’t want to pay full price for them as I’d seen some poor reviews about them, in particular the pigmentation, and I do think that they are overpriced for eyeliner pencil.
I love the packaging of Dainty Doll products. I love the drawing of Nicola, its a shame that this is on the box but not on the actual pencil. The design on the pencils is nice and clean, I like that they provide an accurate colour on the bottom of the pencil so that you can see the colour at a glance.

The swatches on the left are before sharpening the pencils, as you can see the pigmentation looks very poor and it was also very scratchy to apply.

The swatches on the right are after sharpening the pencils. Thankfully this dramatically improved both the pigmentation and the ease of application.

I am really pleased that I didn’t let the negative reviews put me off these eyeliners. They work very well for me. Dainty Doll products are designed specifically for us porcelain ladies so maybe that is why they work so much better for me than they do others.
Dainty Doll eyeliner pencils are available from Boots and cost £10.50 for 4g of product.
I do think that these are very expensive for eyeliner pencils and I’m not sure whether I would re-purchase simply because of the price. These have encouraged me to try more Dainty Doll products, in particular the blushers and lipsticks, watch this space!
Have you tried any Dainty Doll products? How did you find them? What do you recommend from the range?

The price and negative reviews have put me off these, too, but they look lovely on you, especially 'Shake your tail feather', it really suits your eyes 🙂

Hmm I'm not sure on these, they seem overpriced for an eye pencil. Maybe if you put a white eye pencil on first and then applied the colored pencil it would make the color stand out a lot more. The colors remind me a lot of the Urban Decay pencils. They do look quite pretty though. x

Lovely review! It's only highly priced because they think loads of people will buy it because it's made by Nicola Roberts. And I'm not really pale so these products probably wouldn't be suited to me :/

I really want to try these but like you said, they are a little overpriced 🙁 Despite this, I love the colours and they look really nice on you 🙂 x

Thanks Jess 🙂 I really do love this colour too, I never wear coloured eyeliners but these have swayed me and I'll definitely be wearing them more often x

The price is a huge down side to me but I do like them on.
I haven't tried the UD coloured pencils yet x

    Thanks 🙂
I agree that it is only high priced because of the name, some other items in the range don't seem too badly priced, I just think this is high for eyeliner x

    Thanks, I really like them!
They were in a beauty box quite recently so it may be worth keeping an eye out for them in blog sales and/or eBay if you want to try them for a bit less money xx

Thanks 🙂 I keep forgetting to use them because I don't tend to wear coloured eyeliners! Must remember x
