Review : February JolieBox

Review : February JolieBox

I received my February JolieBox today, I was super excited for this one as they didn’t do a box in January so I haven’t had one since they first took over Boudoir Prive in December. The December box was great so this one had a lot to live up to.

I had seen on the JolieBox facebook page that we would now receive our goodies in a bag, I assumed that this meant we would no longer receive the boxes and was a little disappointed. I was very pleased to find that we had both a box and a bag.

My box…

The contents…

JolieBox say : An all natural, multi-purpose stain that adjusts its colour to your mood and temperature.

I say :  This is such a teeny cute little sample, although I would probably loose it in my handbag due to the size. It applied quite clear and then turned this lovely pink colour on my hand. When applied to my lips it also turned a lovely pink colour. It didn’t change the colour of my lips much but just enough to give them a ‘stung’ look. My lips seemed to tingle a little too, an almost minty sensation. I’m still undecided on whether I like the smell, I’m torn between it being a lovely fruity fragrance and it reminding me of cheap lip balms.
Lavera Basis Sensitive Organic Hand Cream 20ml
JolieBox say : An organic hand cream with shea butter and almond extracts.

I say : The first thing I noticed with this hand cream is that its a Vegan product, I’m not a Vegan but am pro cruelty free products so this pleased me. This doesn’t smell how I would expect an almond and Shea Butter hand cream to smell but the smell is okay nonetheless. It sinks into the skin nicely and leaves my hands feeling moisturised.
Macadamia Deep Repair Masque 30ml value approx £3.10
JolieBox say : This ultra-conditioning hair masque will rebuild damaged hair for improved shine and elasticity

I say : We received Macadamia hair oil in our September Boudoir Prive box which I’ve finally gotten around to trying. I’ve been enjoying using this and my hair does feel better for it. This hair masque was a very welcome addition, although leaving it to penetrate into the hair for seven minutes means that I will only be able to use it when I’m not rushing about, which doesn’t happen often.
KIMIA Rejuvenating Facial System sample pack – full size cost £74
1ml of facial oil / 3ml of activator
JolieBox say : This facial oil and hydra-activator will nourish and heal the skin

I say : These products are 100% natural and claim to give your skin a glow. My skin is awful so I will try these out. I am always a little dubious about applying oil to my face as I suffer with greasy skin, fingers crossed it won’t make it worse! The pack comes with a facial of which we apply six drops and a hydra-activator of which we apply six pumps after the oil. It does say the dosage can be increased or reduced dependant on skin type so I may reduce it slightly.
TAAJ Himalaya Micellar Water 100ml (new product)
JolieBox say : An antioxidant and tonic make-up remover that will revitalise and purify skin

I say : This is a water based make-up remover and I look forward to giving it a go. This contains Chamomile, Rosemary and Green Tea Extracts, as you can imagine it smells very fresh. This is a French product which for some reason excites me. I had hoped to try some French brands when originally signing up to Boudoir Prive.
Overall verdict…
  • The bag is a nice idea, I’m not sure if its an extra product or a new part of the packaging. I hope it is just a one off as it will come in handy to have one, but receiving one every month seems a little unnecessary.
  • JolieBox haven’t provided links to show us where each product is available. The links that I have provided are ones that I have found through Google, most of which you can’t purchase from or aren’t UK based. I assume that the products will eventually be added to their products page and available to purchase direct from them. I like that all the products can be purchased from JolieBox their selves but I do miss being able to calculate the values of the products when reviewing the box.
  • The box has provided a very good mix of products, all of which I will give a good try.
  • Once again JolieBox have set out why they have given us each product and provided an example of how to use them all to work together.
JolieBox are currently winning me over above all the other beauty boxes on the UK market at the moment – I hope that they keep up the good work!
You can subscribe to JolieBox for £10 per month plus P&P.

I got the same box (there was a sachet instead of the Kaimia in another) Love it and I especially love the lip tint! A lot of people weren't happy though x

I'm so glad that I got this box and not the other, a sachet of oil seems a little ridiculous.
I'm really happy with mine and am shocked that so many people aren't x

I've been very pleased with both JolieBoxes so far, it seems like the more 'grown up' beauty box to me x

I'll be trying it out tomorrow and am quite excited to see how it goes x
