Gift Idea : DIY Beauty Box

Gift Idea : DIY Beauty Box
Traditionally my sister and I always buy each other vouchers for our birthdays, we set a limit of £10 to spend on each other years ago and have stuck to it ever since. This year I decided to actually get her a present instead of copping out and picking up a voucher. She had to cancel her GlossyBox subscription recently due to being on maternity so I figured I’d put together her own personal beauty box on a budget of £10.

DIY beauty box on a budget of £10 for birthday gift

I had a few sweets left over from Boux Avenue, I put these and all the goodies into a empty JolieBox.

three montagne face masks from home bargains

Three Montagne face masks for £2 from Home Bargains.

various samples sachets

Samples that I had lying around unused.

travaloo perfume atomiser in lilac

Travalo perfumes atomiser, £6.50 Cheapsmells. You can read a review of my atomiser here.

label.m dry shampoo

Unused dry shampoo that I received in a goodie bag.

Urban Decay Loose Pigment Eyeshadow in Gunmetal

Urban Decay Loose Pigment Eyeshadow in Gunmetal, £1.70 Cheapsmells. (I am so annoyed that I didn’t order another one of these for myself as it was such a bargain and is no longer available on their site!)

Silver and gold glitter nail varnishes

Two unused nail varnishes – duplicates in my collection.
She seemed to really enjoy opening her box and rifling through the goodies – this may well replace the voucher tradition!

Making a beauty box for a present is a great idea 🙂 I might do one for my niece for her birthday!

I always do gifts like this for my friends and for my mum, it's an easy way to get a great present when you're on a tight budget!

Oh this is a great idea. I do hamper/boxes quite often as gifts but usually don't put a budget on it and have never done a beauty box, you've already made me think of a few people this will be great for.

Great birthday gift! Your sister is so lucky

I've given a few friends a mish-mash of beauty items in a pretty box and they all LOVE it! The excitement on their faces when ripping into a box to find not one, but many little gifts is priceless!

    • 28th May 2012 / 8:52 pm

She was very excited when opening it and pulling the different things out! x
