You may have noticed in my recent photos that my skin has cleared up A LOT lately. I thought it would only be fair of me to share my newly found wonder product with you.
I have been going back and fore the Doctors for a years about my spots with no success. I gave up all hope for a while and just suffered with them. As I’m getting married in November I decided that enough was enough and I would hound the Doctor until they found something that worked for me!
They prescribed me a set of tablets and this Quinoderm 5 Cream to use alongside them. The tablets bought me out in a rash so I was taken off them immediately and put back onto my previous tablets as the Doctor figured that even though they didn’t work that well something was better than nothing.
The Doctor told me to apply Quinoderm twice a day to the infected areas (face and back). I applied it the next morning and was shocked at how strong it smelt. It left me paranoid all day and even Spencer agreed that I smelt! The cream has a very strong chemical smell. I decided to just apply the cream before bed, thankfully the smell has gone by the morning.
The cream itself is very thick but actually rubs in quite easily. It is a bit of a pain having to ask Spencer to rub the cream into my back every night but it is worth it.
The Pharmacist warned me to be careful of my bedding and clothes while using this cream as it can have a bleaching effect on them. I did a patch test on my duvet set and thankfully it didn’t have any effect on it. As I’m only applying before bed I didn’t worry about my clothes as I only tend to wear cheapy Primark PJs! None of my pyjamas were discoloured after use. I did wear an old vest top for a while when we had the good weather and that did change colour quite dramatically!
I have been using this cream now for approximately one month and am noticing a huge change in my skin with no side effects (apart from one dis-coloured vest!). The Doctor has referred me to a Dermatologist so this cream is just a short term solution but its a great short term solution!
I still get the odd spot here and there but I would say these are more hormonal spots as oppose to the full blown acne I usually suffer with.
I had my cream on prescription from the Doctor but you can also buy it over the counter from most Pharmacies. Boots only seem to stock the Quinoderm cream and not the Quinoderm 5 cream that I have. The only difference between the two (as far as I can see) is that the Quinoderm 5 isn’t as harsh as the original Quinoderm and is recommended for those with sensitive skin.
