I’ve managed a whole week on the Jenny Craig diet* and I must say, its actually been relatively easy. I have had a few cravings, particularly for salt which is a strange one because I never use salt, I must usually be eating a lot of processed salty foods I guess! I find that if I have a can of diet coke the cravings seem to pass which is good as I can have unlimited diet drinks.
I did mess the plan up slightly on Saturday, not by eating too much but by eating too late. I went shopping Saturday and had my lunch at 11am before going. I then ended up going out straight (no alcohol though!) from the shopping and not eating my tea until 1:30am, needless to say I was absolutely starving by this time but I refused to give in and break the diet. I guess this is the one downfall of Jenny Craig, it isn’t really a very sociable diet. But, having said that, you can still eat out on the diet if you want to, I choose not to as I am only doing the diet for two weeks so I want to see the best results that it can give me.
So, onto what you all want to know, drum roll please….
In my first week I lost 2lb.
I was a little disappointed with this to be honest. The plan is aimed to loose 1-2lb a week so I am on the top end of the expected results, I just expected more as I’ve been so good and eaten so much less than usual. That aside a loss is a loss and if you were doing the plan full time a 2lb loss a week is a good, stable loss.
I have enjoyed the plan so far and the majority of the food (except for the Vegetable and Lentil Dhal, I had to force that one down) and I must say that except for resisting my random salt cravings I haven’t really felt like I’ve been on a die as I’m not really that hungry. One side effect that I have noticed, which I wasn’t sure whether to include here or not, is that I’m suffering quite badly with wind which I don’t usually suffer with! I’m not sure if this is related to the diet specifically or if it is triggering my IBS off a little. And on that nice little note its time to round this post up!
