Bit of a random post from me I guess! I went out on a 21st birthday outing in Cardiff last Friday. The theme for the evening was Sailor/nautical. I am pretty poor financially wise at the moment so decided to do it as cheaply as possible.
Annoyingly I was rushing around like always so didn’t get chance to take many decent pictures.
I already had this New Look dress and belt from when the nautical trend was big several years ago. The necklace is also an old one from Peacocks, it has several different charms on it including anchors so I figured it was fitting. The bracelet is this one that I made from my Crafty Creatives box.
I teamed the outfit with a pair of flat red pumps (is it just me that sees fancy dress as a good excuse to wear comfy shoes?), these fake tattoos and this sailor hat, both from eBay. I spent a grand total of £7.44 – bargain!
Lovely tattoo on my calf and a rather fetching drunk photo of me, yes, I am holding onto the wall.
I also decided to attempt some kind of nautical nail theme. My nails were in horrid condition which meant that I had to cut them down before painting them so wasn’t really left with much to work with 🙁
I used MUA Nail Varnish in Shade 1* and then my gold Stargazer nail art pen for the anchors and stripes. It isn’t the best but considering I didn’t have much length to work with and I’m useless at free hand I was quite pleased with the result, at least you could actually tell it was an anchor hey!
