After reading Victoria‘s post (check out her blog, it is amazing) on her day out in Chepstow I quite fancied taking a day trip there, it is only about twenty minutes from my house so why not hey!
I wore my “Mulberry” bag and “Converse” that I bought in Egypt. The jeans are the New Look ones that I tend to live in nowadays, I must buy a few more pairs as they are so comfy. My jumper is from Primark, I thought it apt with the whole blogging/tweeting thing. It is no longer in Primark, I was lucky enough to pick it up in the sale, it is available on eBay here. My jacket is by AX Paris, I actually won this in Sarah‘s giveaway a while back.
We had a nose around Chepstow Castle, it only costs £4 per adult and the castle is still quite ‘together’ compared to a lot of other castles that I have visited. I hate the spiral stairs in castles, a lot of the time I chicken out of going up. The above left photo made me laugh, I wimped out of going up the stairs and Spencer ‘papped’ me without me knowing. I look as though I’m doing a looking into the distance pose, I wasn’t!
We had a wander around the town too. It isn’t a huge town but it is so quaint. There are a few one off shops and antique shops. I was lucky enough to pick up three vintage bottles for £1 from a shop called Country Clutter, they’re only teeny but they make a lovely addiction to my vanity table.
We ate lunch at Lime Tree Cafe Bar, Spencer had the Dragon’s Breath burger and I had the Wild Boar & Chorizo burger, we also had a side of sun dried tomato garlic bread. The food was gorgeous. Thanks for the recommendation Victoria!
I love discovering places like this so close to home. I really need to become more of a tourist in my own backyard. I always say this but I am determined to do it this year.
