Review : MUA Lash Boom Mascara

Review : MUA Lash Boom Mascara
MUA Lash Boom Mascara – Ultra Black £3*
Magnify your lashes for a spectacular false lash effect with the brand new MUA Lash Boom Mascara. Encased in a gorgeous purple tube, this volumising mascara has a long wand that creates length with added drama.

Coat your lashes from root to tip for longer fuller lashes in a flash, minus the irritating clumping. The multi-comb, silicone wand will catch each individual eyelash whilst defining and separating to create a flirty, fanned-out effect.

It’s perfect for short lashes too because the wand is the ideal shape and style to help add much needed love to short lashes – making them long and fluttery.
I couldn’t wait to try out this mascara when it dropped through my letterbox on Saturday morning, the claims are quite big for a £3 mascara. First up I like the purple packaging with the little splash of pink, very nice and girly. The wand is fab, the rounded end is great for getting to the awkward shorter lashes.
The top photo is with no mascara and the bottom after applying MUA’s Lash Boom. For the purpose of the review no eyelash curler was used. Apologies for the grim lighting, I was eager to review this so snapped the photos in my hotel room on Saturday – why is hotel lighting always so lame?

The mascara itself is quite ‘wet’, which means that being the mucky pup that I am I managed to get quite a bit of it on the skin around my eyes. I tend to prefer mascaras like this after a few weeks when they have dried out a little, that is just my personal preference.
The mascara lengthens and lifts my lashes and doesn’t clump, even after several coats. It lasted all night without flaking, the only complaint I have is that it smudged a little under my eyes. To be fair most mascaras that aren’t waterproof tend to do this when I’m wearing my contact lenses, my eyes must run without me realising.

MUA Lash Boom Mascara costs just £3 and is available now from MUA store and in Superdrug stores from 31 July 2013. It comes in three shades – Ultra Black, Black and Black Brown.

That looks really bloody good. Is it a easily smudgable one? I always find that my cheaper mascaras have a terrible habit of being so wet and smudgy!

It did smudge a little on me but most mascaras tend to when wearing my contact lenses, given the heat and the fact that it was raining and damp in the air I think it has held up quite well! x
