You may have seen my excited tweets last week about my new shoe cupboard. Well I’m still excited. The cupboard looks lovely and holds a lot of shoes.
As is typical of IKEA it comes flat packed. Spencer said it was easy enough to put together, he called his dad down to help him out but didn’t actually end up using his help, he did it all by himself.
The cupboard has legs at the front but not the back, this is a space saving method and means that the cupboard can sit tight to the wall above the skirting board, as a result it needs to be screwed into the wall. There are pre-drilled holes at the back of the cupboard.
We’ve managed to fit a whopping twenty nine pairs of shoes in our cabinet which is great as my shoes are no longer thrown behind the back of the sofa, we’ve managed to push the sofa right back and as a result the room looks bigger.
We have put a lot of flat shoes in and stacked some up on top of each other which is why we have fit so many in. Although you can fit heels in you wouldn’t fit anywhere near this amount in.
Notice I have two shelves and Spencer has one 🙂
