I was lucky enough to attend an event at the Cardiff Lush store back in June. At the event I was given a sample of Ultrabland and a full size Angles on Bare Skin* to have a play with. I’ve taken quite a while to post about these as I need to give skincare products a really good trial before I can judge them, my skin tends to react quite badly when I first switch skin care.
Ultrabland is an oil based cleanser made with Beeswax and Rose Water among other natural ingredients. A lot of people swear by Ultrabland, I was a little weary at first as my skin is on the oily side, the lovely assistant at Lush told me that as this contains natural oil it would balance my skin and could actually prevent it from becoming so oily.
To use Ultrabland you apply it to a cotton wool pad and swipe over skin as you would with any other make-up remover. Foundation and blusher comes straight off, it gives a real deep clean without any of the harshness. It doesn’t perform so well with eye make-up, I would suggest using a separate eye make-up remover alongside Ultrabland.
I used this for quite a while to remove my make-up in the evenings, unfortunately it did not work for me, I broke out quite badly with spots while using it. I did replace my usual deep cleansing brush with this and my skin really wasn’t impressed. Everyone’s skin is different and mine simply didn’t like this product.
Angels on Bare Skin* is another raved about cleanser. This contains lavender oil and smells absolutely beautiful, the whole bathroom smells amazing for a little while after using. The product comes almost solid, you need to mix with a small amount of water which turns it into a cleansing milk.
I have been using this for quite a while now and my skin is really loving it. My spots have cleared up a lot and red patches visibly reduced. You get a lot of product for your money with Angels on Bare Skin, as you add water to it every time you use it a little really does go a long way.
