Afternoon Tea – Vintage Tea Rooms at Pontypool Museum
I’ve become quite partial to afternoon tea so so was pretty excited to hear that our local museum had opened a vintage tea room. My best friend and I went along to sample the little fancies on Valentine’s weekend. 
The pink Valentine’s theme came complete with the most gorgeous vintage pink crockery and the prettiest cakes I have ever set my eyes upon. 
We were told to cut the above cake along the dotted line for a hidden surprise…
How cute is this? We were told that the little pink box contained a present for us so both left this right until the very end, we both ooh-ed and ah-ed quite a bit when we opened the box to reveal the white chocolate fudge hearts decorated with edible gold leaf, dark chocolate and a red fondant heart. I’m a good wife so took this home for Spencer. 
There wasn’t a huge choice of tea but I was more than happy with the cranberry & nettle, so happy that I got through two pots full! After all that tea I needed to use the toilet, these can be found at the other side of the museum which is great as you get to have a little tour of the museum along the way.
I can’t recommend this place highly enough, the small tea room comes complete with the personal touch and the prettiest, tastiest little cakes.

    So pretty. I'd love it if the museum I work at did afternoon tea. I may bring up the idea as a one off/ monthly event!

    saw how cute! love how it's all handmade because a lot of places buy their cakes and don't bake in house. Will have to try this place xx
