Afternoon Tea – Vintage Tea Rooms at Pontypool Museum

Afternoon Tea – Vintage Tea Rooms at Pontypool Museum
I’ve become quite partial to afternoon tea so so was pretty excited to hear that our local museum had opened a vintage tea room. My best friend and I went along to sample the little fancies on Valentine’s weekend.
The pink Valentine’s theme came complete with the most gorgeous vintage pink crockery and the prettiest cakes I have ever set my eyes upon.
We were told to cut the above cake along the dotted line for a hidden surprise…
How cute is this? We were told that the little pink box contained a present for us so both left this right until the very end, we both ooh-ed and ah-ed quite a bit when we opened the box to reveal the white chocolate fudge hearts decorated with edible gold leaf, dark chocolate and a red fondant heart. I’m a good wife so took this home for Spencer.
There wasn’t a huge choice of tea but I was more than happy with the cranberry & nettle, so happy that I got through two pots full! After all that tea I needed to use the toilet, these can be found at the other side of the museum which is great as you get to have a little tour of the museum along the way.
I can’t recommend this place highly enough, the small tea room comes complete with the personal touch and the prettiest, tastiest little cakes.
Afternoon tea at the Vintage Tea rooms in Pontypool Museum costs £14 per person.

So pretty. I'd love it if the museum I work at did afternoon tea. I may bring up the idea as a one off/ monthly event!
