Review : Photo Cake Topper
It has become a tradition that for Spencer’s birthday I wake him up with cake and coffee. This year I decided to throw him off the scent by buying a cake instead of making one, as I hadn’t been in the kitchen creating the masterpiece Spencer came to the  assumption that he wasn’t getting a cake. Due to the fact that I was cheating a little I wanted to make the cake extra special in another way. Hello photo cake topper!
I ordered a 7.5 inch icing sheet cake topper for £3.99 from eBay. I emailed my photo over and let them know the text that I wanted to appear on there and that was that. I paid a couple of pence extra for express delivery and it arrived really quickly.
I received an A4 sheet of icing on a sheet of plastic paper, I simply had to cut around the outline and remove from the paper. The icing was great quality and quite thick, as a result it did not break when I removed it from the backing plastic, unlike others that I have seen.
You do have to wet the cake before popping the icing sheet on top, be careful not to get your fingers wet or you will end up smudging the design like I did.
Overall I am super impressed with Party Eggs, so much so I have already ordered Barney and Little Mermaid cupcake toppers from them (these will be making an appearance in a party post soon). They have a huge choice of designs, a create your own option, the icing is great quality and tastes and smells amazing.
