On Monday I turned the grand old age of thirty and it really wasn’t that bad! A lot of people get quite down about reaching a certain age but I am more than happy. I haven’t done everything that I wanted to do before turning thirty but I have achieved a lot. I have my lovely baby and husband, a Mortgage, a secure job, I’m debt free and most importantly of all, I’m happy.
I had a full weekend of celebrating with loved ones, read on to find out what I got up to and see what presents I received.
The celebrations started on Friday when I was invited into work for lunch, myself and a colleague had a joint lunch celebration for my 30th and his 50th, we had a cake and gifts each as well as a delicious lunch. On Saturday evening I went out for a meal with my friends, we went to the Stuffed Dormouse in Caerleon where I had a lovely meal, lovely wine and another cake!
On Sunday Spencer and I headed to Cardiff for the day, we ate at Five Guys (review coming soon) followed by tea and cake in Barker Tea House in the pretty Castle Arcade. Despite it not being my birthday until the Monday I had St David’s vouchers from work and some people gave me money early as they knew we were heading to Cardiff, I bought myself this gorgeous necklace from Clogau Gold using the vouchers and cash.
I woke on my birthday morning to a very special present, Aria had slept through the night for the first time! She went to bed at 8pm and slept until about 6:30am, I’m convinced she did it on purpose as she knew that it was my birthday! I then went downstairs to find that Spencer had decorated with bunting and banners.
We started the day with an all you can eat breakfast at our local Table Table which was lovely. Aria pretty much slept all the way through that as well allowing us to enjoy it without any interruptions. Such a good girl.
We then headed off for my surprise, which was firstly dropping Aria off at Spencer’s parents house (he threw me off the trace by telling me that we were doing something with Aria!) and then on to The Angel Hotel in Abergavenny for High Tea. When booking Spencer mentioned that it was my 30th Birthday, to both his and my surprise the staff sang Happy Birthday and presented me with this cute little cake, it was very amusing as there were three of us celebrating our birthdays, so they had to repeat the singing and cake bringing three times, after the first time I thought I’d got away with it, I’m sure the third lady thought the same thing too.
I had a lovely cake from Aria & Spencer.
and loads of lovely cards and presents from Spencer, Aria, family and friends.
Turning thirty really wasn’t bad at all, I’d actually go as far to say that it was my best birthday yet.
