Aria’s Seven Month Update

Aria’s Seven Month Update
I’m a little bit late with this update, which isn’t a surprise as I’m a little bit late with everything at the moment! On the 26th September Aria turned seven months old, these months really are flying by.
baby girl with milestone card today I am 7 months old

We had her weighed last week, a few days after she turned seven months, she is now weighing 13lbs 12oz, I was really surprised by this as she has only put on 10oz since we last had her weighed, she is eating solids now so I had expected a bigger gain. The health visitor explained that this is normal and she is still following the line for the second centile so there is nothing to worry about. She is moving about a lot more now and therefore burning a lot more of the food off than before.
She is pretty much wearing all 3-6 month clothing now, but is still in 0-3 month from certain shops, the Next sleepsuit in the above picture is 0-3 month.
She has tried a lot of food and is loving it. We are currently on three meals, four bottles and one drink of juice a day. She still enjoys her bottles but definitely gets more excited by her ‘proper’ food. She doesn’t like the juice at all, and plain water is a no go. I am slowly encouraging her to drink a bit of juice by drinking it myself and then offering it to her. The most she has is two to three sips before point blank refusing to open her mouth and looking at me as if I am inflicting major torture on her.

We’ve had a few solid poos since weaning, we still get the lovely runny ones too but there is also a few good solid ones. I love these as they are so much easier to clean! You know you’re a parent when you have a poo preference!

I bought jars of food for the first time on the weekend, up until this point she has been having food made by me following recipes from the Annabel Karmel book, I’ve been so rushed off my feet getting the house sorted that I’ve not really had the time to prepare her food and I’ve pretty much used all of the stock that I had from the freezer. I hate to admit it but she seems to prefer the jars to my food, the Cow & Gate Apple Crumble seems to be a favourite! I’ll be going back to cooking my own food soon as the jars are just so expensive, but I will be keeping a stock of them in the cupboard just in case.
Aria is still sleeping through the night and napping quite regularly throughout the day, she will usually have two or three naps during the day and goes to bed at 7pm until 7am at the earliest. Again, she is still waking in the night on occasions but settles with either Ashton & Parsons or Calpol.
There are still no teeth through, although my mam is sure that she has spotted one starting to come through. I can’t see anything but it is very difficult to try and peek inside Aria’s mouth!
The rash on her neck has cleared up since we have started using moisturiser, we didn’t use anything especially for eczema, just a bottle of Asda baby lotion.
Aria is now babbling a lot, her first proper babble was mu-mu-mu which I was very happy about! She now says ba-ba, da-da and other random things! We don’t think she is associating these words with us or anything in particular, they are just noises.
She is really good at sitting up now. She can’t get herself into the sitting up position yet but if we put her there she will sit unaided for ages, her favourite thing to do is sit on the sofa while playing with/eating my phone!

Oh she's so dinky bless her! How is weaning going? It's such a lovely age I think, when they are starting to taste and explore so many new things.

She is teeny tiny! The weaning is going very well thanks, she loves her food which is amazing and makes it a lot easier! She will eat pretty much anything I give her. It is a very exciting and lovely time 🙂

What a teeny tiny thing! Arlo is already in some 9-12 and he's younger than her! I do love a cute little baby! Sounds like she's doing really well, and i'm glad her neck rash has sorted itself out, and mu-mu-mu deffo means mummy! 😉

Thanks for linking up with #WhatMyKidDid xx

She really is tiny, people always mistake her for a much younger baby who is really advanced ha! Arlo and Aria are polar opposites size wise!
