Baby Wearing In The Welsh Mountains : Pao Papoose Review

Both Aria and I are huge fans of baby wearing, I often carried Aria in her KangaWrap when she was younger, it was great for when she was a newborn but now that she is bigger and more active we need something a little sturdier, in step the Pao Papoose by We Made Me*, it is sturdy without being too structured, can be used three ways and is easy to take on and off on your own.

As well as being sturdy and easy to take on and off I needed a carrier that was comfortable. We enjoy mountain walks (not that we do them often enough due to the weather/busy lives/general laziness) which really aren’t suitable for pushchairs. We required a carrier that would distribute Aria’s weight evenly so as not to put strain on us when out walking. The Pao Papoose is perfect, the straps are padded and thick, there is no digging in and no strain.

The carrier can be used three different ways; parent facing, world facing and back carry. We tend to carry Aria in the world facing position as she loves it, she bounces around, says ‘hiya’ to anyone that she sees and points at everything. If she is tired I turn her around into the parent facing position in an attempt to get her to sleep, it never works, she is far too nosy. We have attempted the back carrying position but Aria wasn’t a fan, she much prefers to be bouncing along in front of me. If we were to attempt some more dangerous mountains, i.e., ones that didn’t have a nice smooth path up, I would use the carrier in the back carry position.

The carrier is easy to take on and off on your own, it does take a little getting used to and can be difficult if it is windy and the straps are blowing away out of reach! The instructions are handily printed on a tag and folded up inside the carrier, great for if you want to change position or forget how to put it on. Once you are down with the carrier it folds up neatly and easily fits into the storage bag provided. The only one flaw that I can find is the fact that it is made of the kind of material that everything sticks to, mine is usually covered in cats hair.

As you can see from the above video Aria absolutely loves being carried in the Pao Papoose.

The Pao Papoose is suitable for ages 4 – 36 months. For more information and where to buy visit the We Made Me website.

It's so good isn't it? We've just been reviewing it and it works so well on the school run and everywhere. My favourite way is the bear necessities. I haven't tried the back one just yet! It

We love it! Even Spencer is enjoying it, he would never use our wrap as it seemed too flimsy for him.
Bear Necessities is fab for when Aria is tired, but she really enjoys forward facing and seeing the world!
