As predicted my decision to be more picky about the sponsored work that I accept has meant that I haven’t had a huge income from blogging this month, not that I ever did! I’m not put off by this and will continue to be more picky with the collaborative work that I accept, I am no longer publishing paid for follow links, I have a set fee in mind that I won’t go under and I am just generally being more picky about the topics and only advertising them if they are a good fit for me, my blog and my readers.
During June my blog received 19,122 page views, 8,871 of which were from unique users. I finished the month with a domain authority of 25, a Tots100 ranking of 205, Foodies100 ranking of 96 and a Snapchat score of 1,087. My followings on the 1st July are as follows :
Facebook : 519 (+6)
Twitter : 2,542 (+92)
Instagram : 1,906 (+92)
Pinterest : 586 (+48)
Google+ : 387 (+3)
Bloglovin’ : 856 (+6)
: 12 (+12)
Sponsored post fees – £186.50
Paypal fees – £1.44 (annoyingly I get charged when companies pay me via Paypal)
ticket, hotel & train tickets – £159.49
Total income less expenses : £25.57
On top of the income I received around £261.92 worth of products to promote/review.
Total income, less expenses + review items : £287.49
Unfortunately my stats haven’t been the best this month, which isn’t a surprise as I only published 16 posts in June, compared with 26 in May. What is surprising is that even though my unique users have dropped my pageviews have shot up and my bounce rate has gone from 79.35% to 59.14% which is great as it means that the readers I am getting are sticking around and wanting to see more.
I’ve decided to delve into the world of YouTube this month, and have posted two vlogs already. I’ve received a lot of compliments on these, I’m not yet sure if people are just being nice or if they really are going to be a hit, only time will tell!
My five most popular posts published in June were :
I have been concentrating on growing my social media this month, in particular Instagram and Snapchat (username leannestundon) and it seems to be going well, both have seen a decent increase in followers and engagement. I am hoping to hit 2,000 on Instagram in July – fingers crossed I haven’t jinxed that now! Other plans are to work on my YouTube and of course, try to get those stats back up!
