Meet The Welsh Bloggers – Welsh Mummy Blogs

Running this series has taught me that I am useless at running a series. These posts are becoming more of a monthly thing than a weekly thing. I must get more organised, I must. Anyway, I digress, I am now back with another Welsh blogger, this week I am interviewing Charlotte from Welsh Mummy Blogs.

Meet the Welsh Bloggers - a series interviewing Welsh bloggers - this week is the turn of Welsh Mummy Blogs, a parenting blog based in South Wales

Firstly, tell me a bit about yourself and your blog :

My name is Charlotte Harding, I am a married mum of two boys age 4 and 2. I had a difficult past before I became a mother. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 2 10 years ago. After suffering with postpartum psychosis after the birth of my first son and not receiving specialist treatment I decided to campaign for a specialist psychiatric mother and baby unit in Wales as we don’t have one!

I have helped collect 15,000 signatures on our petition. I am now working with the Welsh Health Specialised services committee to see what they can do.

My blog is Welsh Mummy Blogs it is a place for me to escape from my mental illness and talk about the things in life I love; My children, husband, theatre and historical places of interest.

What do you love most about living in Wales?

I love everything. I am a born and bred Cardiff girl. I love that I live in the city but it is very easy to hop on a bus or train to escape the hustle of busy city life. I love the parks and historical places of interest.

What, if anything, is your least favourite thing about living in Wales?

It can sometimes be too wet for my liking. I love colder weather but I don’t drive and we don’t own a car so rain is not my thing when travelling with kiddies.

What made you decide to start a blog?

I originally started a blog Recovery Mummy to talk about my mental illness and how I manage but I found that it was having a negative impact on me and not helping with my mental illness. I wanted to write about me and not the illness that I fight everyday. I wanted to write about being positive.

What has been the highlight of your blogging career so far?

Everything, I love to see how many shares a post gets and I love when people comment. I am looking forward to self hosting soon and getting my hubby to build me a website.

Who are your favourite Welsh bloggers?

I like lots of Welsh bloggers but to name a few I have to say Twin Mummy and Daddy, Cardiff Mummy says, Kelly Allen Writer, DIY Daddy and of course you!

You can find Charlotte at these various places around the web :
