Homeware Haul : September/October 2016

I’ve seen a lot of gorgeous homeware pieces pop up lately and I haven’t been able to resist purchasing a few bits here and there. A lot of shops really seem to have uppped their homeware game lately, even shops that I wouldn’t usually consider visiting for homeware such as New Look are stocking gorgeous little pieces at the moment.

UK Homeware Haul September and October 2016 including a glitter wall unicorn from Home Bargains

As  I’ve bought quite a few new bits I thought I would film a little homeware haul for you guys. I’ve been shopping in Primark, New Look and Home Bargains, we’ve even bought a new bed from IKEA!

Most of these items unfortunately aren’t available on line, but the most amazing one is! The Unicorn Head can be purchased from Home Bargains for the bargain price of £6.99 here.

What My Baby Wore #20

I’ve bought some new clothes for Aria which means that I have cute new outfits to share, which is a nice change as she seems to be wearing all the same clothes lately. I bought a few Christmas bits and also some pieces that I couldn’t resist in H&M, they have a massive baby clothing sale on at the moment so I bought plenty for the next size up too, all featured in this post.

H&M Launch Largest UK Store In cardiff

I was recently invited along to attend the launch of H&M’s new store in Cardiff, with 25% off all products, a free embroidery service, mocktails and a performance from singer/songwriter Ella Eyre it promised to be a good evening.

The new Cardiff store is the largest H&M in the UK to date, the new flagship store offers all H&M concepts for women, men, teenagers and children as well as homeware and an exclusive beauty department.

I was most excited to see the kids and homeware ranges and they didn’t disappoint. There were so many beautiful clothes in stock for the older children, though there didn’t seem to be that much for the under one year olds.

As a launch event special H&M were offering a free embroidery service on any goods bought in store, so long as your total transaction came to over £15. I had hoped to buy a Christmas bib for Aria and have ‘Aria’s first Christmas 2015’ sewn onto it but unfortunately there weren’t any bibs, or in fact any baby clothing, with a Christmas theme. Instead I decided to buy Aria a beautiful stocking and have her name sewn onto this.

I couldn’t resist taking a photo of the special Welsh dragon shopping bags, I think these are fab.

We were given a goody bag containing a canvas bag, a notebook, pen, make-up bag and a H&M gift card.

I bought a few bits while I was there, I had to spend £15 so that I could have the embroidery, this was the perfect excuse to buy myself yet another Christmas cat sweater, this one is so awfully tacky it is amazing! With Aria’s first birthday fast approaching I couldn’t resist picking up these cute party hats.

Have you been to the new H&M store in St David’s, Cardiff? If so, what was your favourite department? Mine was most definitely homeware.

Baby Clothes Sale Purchases Summer 2015
Summer sales are everywhere at the moment, I’m no longer getting excited about picking up bargains for myself in the sale, instead I am choosing to buy all of the reduced baby clothes. Aria’s 0-3 month clothing is getting a little snug on her (about time I guess!) so I used the sale as an opportunity to stock up on 3-6 month in readiness.

After seeing Helen’s impressive sale buys I knew exactly where to look for the majority of mine, the Bluezoo range at Debenhams. I have linked to the items where they are still available.

What I Bought : Maternity Clothes, mostly New Look
I am twenty three weeks pregnant today and have already built up quite a collection of maternity clothing. Most of it comes from New Look, simply because my local New Look stock maternity wear in store, it is so handy to nip over in my lunch hour and pick up a new top.
Buying maternity clothing can be surprisingly difficult, I went to Cardiff expecting to be able to get loads there and came home empty handed, most stores, New Look included, don’t carry the maternity range in-store in Cardiff which is quite disappointing and why I am tending to stick to my local New Look store now.
I’m still in my old jeans/trousers so have only bought tops and dresses so far. Aside from a pack of two pairs of maternity leggings from New Look which are very comfortable.

Work supply us with blouses as uniform, they also provide maternity tops which they tend to be pretty flexible with. They usually order white maternity blouses, but I explained that I did not want white as my boobs are growing and I won’t always necessarily be wearing a bra that fits me 100% of the time, therefore I don’t want a blouse that you can see my bra through! I was given a few tops to choose from and settled on this black and white polka dot one from Next. At £16 it isn’t too badly priced, though it isn’t as long as the New Look tops tend to be and I’m not sure they will last right the way through my pregnancy.
This striped New Look top isn’t available on-line any more, I’m pretty sure it cost me around £8/9. Like my other New Look maternity tops this is comfortable and long so should hopefully last me all the way through. I really want a pair of dungarees to wear over the top of this but they are so expensive, the New Look ones cost £65!
Both of these comfortable, casual tops are from New Look, both costing around £12.99.
I’m absolutely loving my tight fitting maternity dresses, I’ve always loved tight midi dresses but have’t been able to wear them as I have a large tummy, now that I have a reason to have a large tummy I’m practically living in them! I managed to get both of these on sale, the floral print one for £13 and the floral stripe one £9.
This blue floral dress is perfect to wear with leggings and pumps, I paid £24.99 for it but it is now reduced to £18.50. This black lace dress is by far my most favourite maternity purchase, and possibly my most favourite dress that I have purchased in a long time, I love it and it is so flattering on, I paid £19.99 for it and it is now reduced to £14.50.
Last but by no means least is my lovely New Look maternity coat. My coats are all getting tighter on me and the buttons do occasionally pop open. I really didn’t want to spend £50 on a coat I’m only going to wear for one Winter but I didn’t have much of a choice. When New Look emailed me with a £10 discount code I just had to dive in and buy a coat, this one cost £49.99 (without the discount).
