Christmas Gift Ideas for Foodies

Foodie gifts are some of my favourite gifts to both give and receive. I love both compiling a hamper of food related treats or picking up the perfect foodie gift set that I know will bring a smile to the receivers face.

If you would prefer to go down the DIY hamper route, these would make the perfect additions.

Christmas Gift Ideas for Foodies selection of Welsh cheeses

A selection of cheese is essential isn’t it? This delicious Welsh selection of cheeses came from Dragon, a farmer owned Welsh dairy co-operative that produces a wide selection of cheese and traditional Welsh butter. The range includes Cheddar (from young mild varieties to something more vintage which can be matured for up to 2 years). As well as this, they make traditional Welsh Caerphilly, Double Gloucester, Red Leicester and, my personal favourite, Vintage Cheddar with Leek – how very Welsh!

Dragon Cheese is available from a variety of retailers, including Sainsburys, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Lidl, local independent stores and cheese shops.

Christmas Gift Ideas for Foodies Opies pickled walnuts

Pickled Walnuts, some may say the ultimate cheese accompaniment. These are available from most supermarkets and the long date makes them the perfect addition to a food hamper.

Christmas Gift Ideas for Foodies hottest chilli sauce

Carolina Reaper Chilli, the hottest chilli sauce from Encona. Not for the faint hearted but a great offering for those who like to put their taste buds to the test!

Encona sauces are available in a range of UK supermarkets.

Christmas Gift Ideas for Foodies wakers shortbread hamper

The Christmas range from Walkers ticks most boxes, traditional shortbread, chocolates, pretty tins (one even plays music), tarts and mince pies. There is something for every food lover in their selection which is available online via

The Relax and Unwind Well-being gift set from Indigo Herbs is packed with herbal relaxing items designed to defuse pressure both inside and outside the body.

The kit contains Chamomile tea, a cute strawberry tea diffuser, de-stress and unwind massage oil and de-stress and unwind pure essential oil blend.

chamomile tea with strawberry tea strainer and herbal relax and unwind lotions

This would be the perfect little gift set for someone who simply needs a little bit of me time.

The massage oil and essential oil both contain Basil, Geranium, Peppermint and Grapefruit which combined make a delicious scent. The essential oil can be enjoyed in various ways including in an oil burner, adding a few drops to a bath, applied directly to pulse points (be sure to dilute with water first) and many more ways.

Both of the oils smell amazing, the scent is instantly relaxing. I personally enjoying dropping a few drops of the oil into a bubble bath, lighting a candle and relaxing in the bath with a cuppa, perfection.

Indigo Herbs have a great range of gift sets similar to this one, I personally love the sound of the raw chocolate making kit and think that the pregnancy care & well being kit would make for a lovely baby shower present.

Recent Events : #PartyAtTheAngel and #SWBXmas
I’ve recently attended two fabulous events, both arranged by fellow bloggers. The first event, #PartyAtTheAngel, organised by Ffion and Charlotte, was held at The Angel Hotel, Cardiff back in September. The second event, #SWBXmas, organised by Kerry, was held at Chapter, Cardiff a few weeks ago.

Party At The Angel was a glamorous affair with prosecco and canapés served by waiters on arrival, the glamour did come with a price tag of just over £10 per person which I did feel was a little steep for what was received in terms of food, despite the canapés being very tasty they didn’t fill a hole. Despite knowing that the price was a little steep for the food I was more than happy to pay it because I knew that it would be worth it for what the girls had in store for us which was a fun day with amazing goody bags and blogger friends.

renate chocolate cupcake
The event was very well organised, there were various companies set up around the room, we were welcome to chat to them and find out more about them. There were also delicious cupcakes from Renate and if we wanted we could go and have our hair styled.
bee good gift box with products and chocolates
It was a very relaxed and laid back event but there were various competitions announced throughout the day. One of which was the best tweet which I won – yay! I won this lovely set from Bee Good and a Scent City voucher along with some perfume samples.
#partyattheangel goody bag with pad deco renate bee good beauty crowd prairie charms
We also got to take a home these amazing goody bags including items from Cardiff based interior design store Pad Deco, Bee Good, Prairie Charms and Beauty Crowd. As well as the goody bag items we received discount vouchers for Renate, Shopafrolics and the Blogger Beauty Box.
The girls had set up some photo props at the event and we were given our photos on a little reel to take home. Such a lovely memory of the day.
chapter coffee cup
Chapter played host to the South Wales Bloggers Christmas showcase, again we had a small fee to pay to attend, around £8 if I remember rightly. In exchange for this fee Chapter provided hot and cold drinks and a huge buffet. The chocolate brownies were heaven and I felt that the price paid was reflected in the buffet and the effort put in by Chapter, they even printed little signs with the hashtag for the event pointing us to the room.

Kerry worked extremely hard to ensure that we all had jam packed goody bags to take home with us, I honestly couldn’t believe how much effort she went to, especially considering that she is so heavily pregnant! In the weeks running up to the event she had been driving around here, there and everywhere picking up items to make sure that we didn’t miss out.

The goody bags included this box of sweets from Scoff Club, a monthly gift box of irresistible sweets. I pinched a few and then quickly gave the box to Spencer, this is way too much temptation for a Slimming Worlder!

InstaFrame personalised photo booth prop
InstaFrame also provided us with a photo prop for the day which we had a lot of fun with. I’m already looking for an excuse to buy one for myself, I’m wondering whether to get one for Aria’s first birthday party or if it is a little pointless because the party is for children not adults!
A massive well done and thank you to Ffion, Charlotte and Kerry for organising both of these amazing events and to all of the brands who got involved. I will be posting about some of the items in more detail soon so keep your eyes peeled for that, if there is anything that you would like to see first let me know.
