Hi guys, I hope you don’t mind the late night post! I wasn’t going to post tonight as we went to watch The Inbetweeners (hilarious by the way!). I’ve just had a cup of coffee and an wide awake so thought I’d pop up this post that I took the pictures for the other day!
Konad…how do you use it?
After several failed stamping attempts I decided to sit down with a few nail varnishes and Konad plate m83 to see if I could get the stamp to transfer with any of them, the results weren’t very successful as you can see below…
MUA – Hardly there
Eyeko – quite promising but only part of the design
17 – no transfer at all!
Rimmel – this one picked up a lot of the image clearly, but missed parts
Barry M – hardly there
ELF – picked up a lot of the design but again missed chunks
No.7 – just a tiny dot!
This is where you guys come in, how do you Konad? Am I doing something wrong or do I just have to admit defeat and buy the Konad Special paints? Do you have any Konad hints and tips?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

I didn't know this either! I just ordered this kit which was described as the starter kit so I assumed that I had everything I needed to start! Obviously not!

I've only ever used the special Konad polishes when I've done Konad. :S It's weird that no other polishes of have worked. I might have to give some different brands a try

I think you have to use konad special polishes. They're a whole different formula from normal polish – thick and almost plasticy. I think if a regular polish is going to work it has to be one thats gone gloopy and thick. But the konad polishes are well worth it for stamping.
I think you have to use the konad polishes! Theres a kit on amazon by them with more plates. I really wanna try them.

I've never used any of the special polishes, and all the polishes I've used (mainly e.l.f. and Barry M) work really well with my konad. If it's not picking up all the polish perhaps you are taking too long between scraping and stamping? (the thin layer or polish can dry quite fast and get stuck in the design) I wrote a blog post with all my tips and tricks a while back ( http://gretalrabbit.blogspot.com/2011/07/konad-stampers-how-to-with-some-tips.html#comments ) perhaps it would be helpful to you 🙂

I have the same stamper asyouso dont worry – I'm tempted to just tell you to give in and buy the special polishes because they are the best. However i'm always trying other polishes. I've only been sucsesful with older polishes that have thicked up and gone gloopy. They seem to work alright – Still not as well as konad but much better. :/ Sorry this isnt much help. I konad all the time but i'm still yet to find a decent cheap stamping polish!xxxx
i wanted to try this, but i didnt know you had to get special paints?!
such a shame that normal ones dont work on them!

I'd suggest using the konad speical polishies, they seem to be the only ones that work properply
I got this as a xmas gift but I haven't tried it out yet. I'm kind of scared that I'll mess up. Lol.
Hiya I had a couple of different kits and plates that I got off eBay and to be honest they never worked with anything. I then got a great deal on a starter konad kit and got it with 2 of their special polishes. I have used some regular polishes with it and they do work but they come off quite sheer. The only thing is my stamper looks a lot different to yours so maybe you just got a dodger stamper 🙁 let me know how you get on. You can get the Konad paints pretty reasonable on eBay
I've always wondered this so will be keeping an eye on your post for the pros to come along and make it look easy lol!
the trick is simple – you need the konad nail polish.
here is my quick blog on konad
