While the majority of my pregnancy symptoms are the same second time around, I’m not. Pregnancy number one was full of excitement, fear of the unknown and marking every single memory. Pregnancy number two is going by in a haze and I’m pretty sure that these past five months have been the fastest five months ever, in history
Pregnancy 1 – Bought a selection of pretty baby clothes in various sizes
Pregnancy 2 – I’m sure we have plenty of old clothes kicking around from last time. I’ll buy a couple of packs of cheap baby grows from Primark and we’ll be fine. It’s not like the baby needs anything fancy
Pregnancy 1 – Obsessively checks several pregnancy apps each week to find out what is new with the baby
Pregnancy 2 – Remembers to check the one app on the odd occasion it sends me a reminder that I haven’t logged in for a while
Pregnancy 1 – Documents every little thing via blog, social media and a scrapbook full of lovingly thought out quotes and photos (granted, the scrapbook came to an abrupt end a few months after baby was born)
Pregnancy 2 – Occasionally uploads a quick bump photo to social media, writes one or two blog posts, hasn’t even considered buying a scrapbook or taking regular bump photos for said scrapbook. I’m not even sure I’ve got a bump photo to include in this blog post
Pregnancy 1 – I feel like I’ve been pregnancy forever, I wish this baby would hurry up, I can’t wait to hold my baby in my arms
Pregnancy 2 – Oh shit, we only have four months left. Where the hell did that time go?
and don’t even get me started on the ‘accidents’. My pelvic floor isn’t what it used to be. If you’re planning baby number two be prepared to wear panty liners. If you have sickness/a cold/a cough nappies may be a good option.
