Last week I took the plunge and joined a local Slimming World group. I’ve previously followed the Slimming World weight loss plan online, but this time I felt that I needed the extra support and motivation that you get from joining a group. I was quite nervous about going alone but the group are warm and welcoming which is always good! Today I had my first weigh in…
This week I have lost 4lbs! I am super pleased with this loss, I have been on plan for the majority of the week but did go off plan a lot at The Royal Welsh Show on Thursday and at my friend’s Wedding on Saturday. Aside from these two massively off plan days I have been very good the rest of the week, here are a few of the things that I have been eating.
Wednesday was the day that I joined group, I had already had breakfast before attending and went to Wetherspoons after class. I had a baked potato with beef chilli and salad at Wetherspoons. For tea that night I had steak, tomatoes, roast potatoes and salad, I kept it all syn free as I’m guessing I’d had quite a few syns with my cereal and Wetherspoons food.
We went to the Royal Welsh Show, I strayed massively with a pork and stuffing roll and afternoon tea.
Friday – 0 Syns
For breakfast I had chopped leeks, tomatoes & bacon fried with eggs. For tea I had beef strips, potatoes and veg roasted in beef stock with garlic. I used my Healthy extras on milk and two Alpen light bars.
My friend’s Wedding, another naughty day including lots of very bad food and alcohol.
Sunday – 0.5 Syns
Sunday is when I properly got into the swing of things. I started the day with potatoes, onion egg & beans for brunch (we had babysitters & hangovers, I had a lie in!). I had chicken, potatoes & veg roasted in smoked paprika for tea folllowed by pudding of strawberries & bananas in 0% fat vanilla yoghurt (0.5 syns). For my healthy extras I had a milky coffee and two Alpen light bars.
Monday – 1 Syn
By Monday I was really getting into it. I had a delicious breakfast consisting of mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, beans egg & bacon (I left the fat).
My lunch was tuna baked potatoes and salad. For the potatoes I baked as normal, scooped the filling out and mixed it up with tuna, I then put this back into the skins, sprinkled with onions and put back in the oven while preparing the salad.
I had a lemon fat free yoghurt as a snack (0.5 syns). The milk for my coffee is my Health Extra A, I measured it out in the morning and used it in cups of coffee throughout the day.
I made beef chilli for tea which was served with rice and salad, all syn free.
For pudding that night I sliced strawberries and bananas and mixed them with 0% fat vanilla yoghurt (0.5 syns) and two crushed Alpen light bars (Health Extra B). This was beautiful, my very own Slimming World Sundae!
Tuesday – 4.5 Syns
I had a bacon, onion, mushroom & pepper omelette for breakfast.
Leftover chilli & rice for lunch.
Beef mince, potatoes, carrots, green beans in syn free gravy for tea (quarter an onion, place in a bowl with two table spoons of water, microwave for seven minutes, crumble over a beef stock cube, add boiling water then blend, personally, I add a little water and keep adding more into the blender until it is at the consistency that I want it).
I had the above ‘sundae’ (0.5 syns) again along with a biscuit (4 syns) and a cup of coffee.
I’m aiming for a loss of 3lbs this week, I’m being greedy and going for half a stone in a fortnight! I have no days or nights out planned so I should be good and will enjoy more syns each day this week as I won’t have anything to feel guilty about!
